Sterling Services, LTD., is pleased to have been recertified as a member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). It is their sixth year being a member and it is an important certification to have, not just for themselves, but for dealing with the county, state, and federal government. One of the many benefits of being a member is having access to resources including lists of supplier diversity and procurement executives at thousands of major US corporations as well as the local, state, and federal government.
“We appreciate the WBENC and everything they do for Women Owned Businesses,” Chief Executive Office and majority owner Laura Eddleston said. “Their network of executives from the corporate world and federal level that we can work with, collaborate with, or learn from is great.”
Being a Women Owned Business and a member of the WBENC, Sterling has an advantage against non-WBENC entities when it comes to contract bidding. The government and many us corporations need to increase the percentage of Women Owned Businesses they work with, which helps Sterling as they can save costs on contracts through being a member of WBENC. With 100 percent of their work subcontracted, their clients also receive that benefit, which lowers their total cost even further.
There also offer online resources available for members including access to WBENCLink2.0, a digital certification tool and database connecting women-owned businesses and Corporate and Government Members. They offer a multitude of grants and networking opportunities for their members including the Dorothy B. Brothers Scholarship, WBENC Executive Education Program, as well as the Robert Half Accelerated Leadership Development Program. During the current COVID-19 pandemic, they offered their members a place to go to find financial assistance, grants, policies, and business support.
