The Hamtramck Goodfellows are once again providing food to those families in need of a warm cooked meal on Christmas. Every year for the past six decades, a group of generous citizens come together to give back to the community so those that need a warm meal on the Holiday can have one. The money they raise from their efforts gets turned into vouchers that people can use to get the food they need for the holiday.
Sterling Services once again donated to the Hamtramck Goodfellows. They have supported this cause for several years as well as other charities in Hamtramck including the Friendship House. They supported their effort in making sure no family goes without a Thanksgiving meal.
The pandemic has caused fundraising problems in recent years, but the goal remains the same – No Child Without a Christmas.” The generosity of the local businesses like Sterling Services and citizens really helps the Goodfellows reach their goal. In past years, the Hamtramck Review would dedicate an issue to the cause and the money received for selling them on the streets would go to the Goodfellows. This year, as we continue through a pandemic, they are not selling these issues on the streets.
