ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Sterling Services LTD., VP of Operations Jason Eddleston took the initiative to take a public arts program Piano on the Streets in Royal Oak, Mich. and bring it to Birmingham, Mich. with Pianos in the Park.

The Public Arts Board of Birmingham, Sterling Oil and Chemical, and Jason Eddleston – VP of Operations at Sterling had a piano brought to Birmingham where it was painted by kids in the community. The painting project took place at St. James Episcopal Church in downtown Birmingham during the 2019 Birmingham Fair.

“I have long loved the arts and when this project was done in Royal Oak, it received a warm welcome,” Eddleston said. “We helped with that project, providing the paint and tool but I wanted to share this project with other communities. So I talked with people on the Public Arts Board and they were receptive to the idea. We got it approved, and now it is displayed at Shain Park in Birmingham.”

The project now stretches over two communities as it is well received by the city officals and residents.
