HAMTRAMCK, Mich. – Sterling Services LTD., continues to operate during their normal business hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m, Monday thru Friday. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic they have added several new procedures at the facility in Hamtramck, Mich.
Sterling has installed new signage at the facility notifying all drivers to remain in their trucks at all-times while on property. To limit the amount of people on site at one time, they have created shifts for their employees. Every employee is required to wear a mask while at work at all times and their temperature is taken with a no-contact infrared thermometer at the start of each work day.
Throughout the stay-at-home order, the company has and will continue to supply their employees with lunch from local restaurants. The employees were also given gift certificates to use at local restaurants. An effort to give back to the businesses that were adversely affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
As uncertainty surrounded the spread of the contagion, many businesses were required to shut down or downsize as state issued executive orders stymied most businesses. Sterling was no different, having to temporarily lay-off non-essential employees as the virus spread across the US. To mitigate the spread of the virus and protect their employees, the company decided to limit the workplace to essential employees only. They’ll look to bring back those temporary laid off employees once the order is lifted and people can return to work.
